Mohammad Hanif Rajput was born in 1944, in a small town in the Rohtak district. The family moved to Nawabshah just before partition and is settled there to date. He was very proud of his modest origins and retained endearing small town simplicity throughout his life. His impressive rise as a successful businessman was propelled by his unparalleled organizing skills and wise business sense and even more important he was an untiring spirit and hard worker.

As a child he always wanted to become an aeronautical engineer and following his dream he joined Islamia High School, Nawabshah and later pursued BSc at Kalimori College, Hydrabad where he also took the responsibility of being the mess manager. This was the first time he got exposed to his hidden talent towards food and performed to the best of his abilities. Still enthusiastic about become an engineer with the help of his uncle Haji Rafiq he went to England to complete his higher studies. From London he went to Scotland where he was discouraged to study further and has to return to London where he finally started working.

His first job was to work for an export packing firm from where he moved to British Railways. Things were not to his satisfaction so he started to take evening classes in catering business and courses about customer satisfaction. He came back in 1969 to Pakistan, got married and took his wife with him back to London where he accepted a position as clerk in Intercontinental Hotel leaving his career in British Railways. He was certain that his career had to be in hospitality business where he could serve people. For 3 years he kept consistent with the Intercontinental Hotels taking extra odd part time jobs to make his ends meet.

After the daughter was born to him he received a response from an old application he had filled at Avari Hotel, Karachi and was appointed as the restaurant manager at Avari Club. Main job responsibilities for him included organizing events and he felt happy after he had helped people realize their dream events. He had brought smiles to the faces of hundreds of people and this made him very proud. He wanted to immortalize that feeling and the idea of getting into catering business seemed like the best route to his destination. He opened a cafeteria in Nawabshah, his home town and quickly climbed the ladder with his good public relation skills, innovative ideas and what he used to call one window operations.

During the times of changing legislations from government and changing social order he changed his business to suit the times. As the business grew so did his organization, employees and operations. He believed in cost consciousness with international quality standards. His hard work, good reputation and persistency increased the business fourfold and from that day till date Hanif Rajput has never looked back and crossed many milestones. Mr Rajput was a man of honor and strong principles; he was respected by his employees and admired by competitors. Personalities like Mr Hanif Rajput are born once in decades that outshine the world by their mere simplicity, character and hard work.

The children has kept the values alive through thick and thin and now stand at being the largest catering and decorating infrastructure in Pakistan. Today Hanif Rajput is a group of companies, looking forward guided under the light of its founder, to be the best at what we do and bring smiles to people by making them realize their dream events.
